BASWA Natural: The Sustainable Standard in Seamless Acoustics
BASWA Natural represents the next evolution in acoustic plaster technology. By replacing traditional glass fibre with sustainably grown hemp fibres, it delivers the iconic seamless marble finish of BASWA Phon with a significantly reduced carbon footprint.

Why Specify BASWA Natural?
-
Design Freedom: Achieve perfectly smooth, jointless surfaces on flat, curved, or vaulted geometry with a minimum radius of 500 mm.
-
Superior Absorption: High-performance sound control reaching Class B absorption ( 0.80 / NRC 0.80).
-
Ecological Integrity: Panels are made from natural plant fibres and a 6mm pre-coating of recycled glass granulate.
-
Health & Wellbeing: Solvent-free, formaldehyde-free, and VOC-free, ensuring a healthy indoor climate for occupants.
BREEAM, LEED & WELL Contributions
BASWA Natural is engineered to help your project achieve the highest sustainability ratings:
-
BREEAM: Contributes to Health and Wellbeing (Hea 05) through acoustic performance and Materials (Mat 01) via its high recycled and bio-based content.
-
LEED v4: Earns points for Acoustic Performance (EQ Credit) and Low-Emitting Materials.
-
Embodied Carbon: Hemp cultivation binds approximately 100.75 kg of per , providing a carbon-negative material source for the acoustic core.
-
Certification: EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) and HPDs (Health Product Declarations) are available to support your specification.

Installation & Durability
Installed exclusively by certified specialists like Quiet Craft, the system is adhered directly to airtight substrates such as concrete or plasterboard. For high-traffic or humid areas like swimming pools and spas, specify BASWA Protect for deep water repellency without compromising acoustic performance.
Precision Installation by Certified Specialists
To ensure the high-performance B-s1, d0 fire rating and seamless aesthetic, BASWA Natural must be installed by Quiet Craft certified specialists.
-
Substrate Preparation: Systems are adhered directly to stable, airtight substrates such as concrete or suspended drywall. Surfaces must be dry (max 3% moisture) and free of dust or release agents.
-
Panel Adhesion: BASWA Natural hemp-fibre panels are bonded using BASWA Fix adhesive. For curved surfaces, panels are scored on the reverse to accommodate radii as small as 0.5m.
-
Joint Sealing: Panel joints are filled with BASWA Fill and sanded to create a perfectly monolithic substrate.
-
Microporous Coating: A base coat and final top coat (available in 0.3mm, 0.5mm, or 0.7mm grain) are trowel-applied or spray-applied using the
to achieve the final marble-smooth finish.
