St Anne’s College Library: Combining Acoustics with Thermal Control

We are proud to have been the specialist contractors for the St Anne’s College Library project. For a modern academic environment, the challenge was twofold: creating a silent, focused study space while maintaining a stable, comfortable temperature.

We installed the BASWA Cool system to the library ceilings. This advanced technology integrates capillary tube mats within the acoustic plaster, allowing for draft-free cooling and heating without the need for unsightly metal grills or noisy air conditioning units. The result at St Anne’s is a perfectly quiet, thermally controlled environment that feels as good as it looks.

Invisible Sound Control for Oxford’s Heritage & Education Sector

Oxford’s historic buildings present unique acoustic challenges. High ceilings and stone surfaces often result in excessive reverberation that disrupts learning. Our BASWA Phon systems are the gold standard for listed building refurbishments.

By applying a seamless acoustic plaster, we significantly reduce noise levels without altering the original architectural profile. We work closely with Oxford-based architects to ensure our monolithic acoustic finishes complement the city’s iconic limestone and timber interiors.

High-Performance Acoustics for Oxford Life Sciences & Research

As a global hub for innovation, Oxford’s new-build laboratories require precision-engineered environments. Quiet Craft installs advanced sound-absorbing ceilings that are:

  • Seamless & Monolithic: No visible joints or grids.

  • Hygienic & Durable: Suitable for high-tech research environments.

  • BASWA Cool Compatible: Ideal for labs requiring precise temperature control.
